As KDRT is a low power station (under 100 watts), very few people tuned into the show during its air time. Podcasting had just been developed a few months before I started the show, so I learned how to podcast by hand-coding an XML file. Once I started podcasting, I received email from listeners across the country, and as far away as Europe, Japan, and Australia. It made the work of putting on the show much more worthwhile. I created the logo, t-shirts, and a website for the show. It was all a lot of work for no pay. The funny thing is, at the time I hosted the show, I didn't ride bikes. But interviewing so many enthusiasts made me want to give the sport a try. Since then, I've quit the show and am now an avid cyclist. Go figure. Bike Talk was a radio show I produced and hosted at KDRT, Davis' low power FM radio station. The show ran weekly from October 2004 to January 2006. Many shows were conducted live in the studio. Others were recorded and edited ahead of time. These were my favorite, as I could add music and other effects. I learned non-linear audio editing through this process (using Apple's Garage Band Software).
